Commercial
Designing for commercial spaces requires balancing aesthetics, functionality, and brand identity to support both business goals and user experience. Layout and flow must be intuitive, allowing employees and guests to move comfortably through high-traffic areas.
Durable materials, layered lighting, and strong acoustic control ensure long-lasting performance and comfort. Flexible furniture and modular layouts help the space adapt as business needs evolve. Ultimately, great commercial design blends beauty with purpose to create an environment that inspires, performs, and leaves a memorable impression.
Functionality remains at the heart of the design. The central worktable provides ample room for arranging bouquets, preparing orders, and staging displays without disrupting customer flow. The POS station was intentionally kept minimalistic and sleek, blending seamlessly into the environment without adding visual noise. Brass hardware accents offer a subtle touch of luxury, complementing the green cabinetry and giving the workspace a polished, high-end feel. The balance between beauty and practicality ensures that staff can work efficiently while remaining immersed in a visually inspiring setting.
Overall, this florist shop embodies modern botanical luxury — a space where design and nature coexist in perfect harmony. It offers a sensory experience rooted in color, texture, and organic beauty, all thoughtfully brought together to support the craft of floral artistry. Through its intentional palette, refined materials, and expertly layered displays, the design creates an inviting sanctuary for both customers and floral designers. It is not just a shop, but a curated environment that celebrates the art of flowers and the beauty of nature through elevated interior design.
The design of this florist shop centers around the harmony between nature and refined craftsmanship, creating a space that feels fresh, inspiring, and beautifully intentional. Given a timeline of just three months, every element was selected to elevate the customer experience while allowing the product — the flowers — to remain the hero of the environment. The green tonal palette was chosen not only for its botanical resonance but also for its calming psychological effect, creating a sense of serenity the moment guests enter the space. Together with our client, we chose soft curves, smooth marble, and warm natural wood were incorporated to counterbalance the vibrant plant life with a sense of structure and elegance.
The green subway-tile backsplash was chosen to mimmic some of the architectural elements that were historic on the exterior facade of this Brooklyn storefront. We felt that it acts as a visual anchor, adding depth and rhythm to the design while reinforcing the shop’s nature-inspired identity. Paired with creamy marble countertops, the contrast creates a luxurious and timeless aesthetic suitable for a boutique floral environment. The inclusion of metal flower buckets beneath the counter celebrates craftsmanship and tradition, grounding the space with a nod to classic European flower markets. Open wood shelving allows for curated displays of potted plants, contributing height and visual layering while keeping the environment feeling airy and uncluttered. We sourced the materials from our local New York State vendors who were able to deliver each of the designs elements on an expedited timeline.
